Texas State breaks ground on Round Rock nursing building
A groundbreaking was held on Friday for the new nursing education facility at Texas State University's Round Rock Higher Education Center.
University administrators and others attended the ceremony at the Round Rock campus. Texas State plans to launch its new bachelor of arts in nursing program in fall 2010.
In May the Texas State University System Board of Regents approved the creation of the nursing school and degree program.
The Texas Legislature and the St. David's Community Health Foundation are providing the startup funding for the program. The foundation has already committed $6 million to the initiative.
